Melbourne (Rendezvous Hotel)

I am now at Melbourne (Rendezvous Hotel) and the time is 8:50pm.

Melbourne, or rather Rendezvous Hotel, brings back a lot of memories because my very first flight with S_ _ was to this place.

I remember serving a special meal to a wrong passenger onboard, finding it difficult to balance myself during turbulence with a big tray of cups of juices, telling a senior that a passenger asked for tonic water and checking with him if tonic water is a concoction of 1 part tonic and 4 parts water (Very blur!), tailing the senior crew closely in the airports, calling my parents from Melbourne to allay her worry (being the very first training flight), having dinner with 2 of my batch girls at a nearby diner after check-in to hotel, slowly letting reality sink in that I was really in Melbourne, having complimentary buffet breakfast with the crew the next morning, walking around the city with 2 of my batch girls, taking a nap in the evening before the red eye flight back to Singapore, shaving halfway using my electronic shaver the battery ran out and the razor was stucked to my stubble I had to pull it out, calling my batch girls to ask if they could spare me batteries (LOL!), calling the reception to ask for disposable razor.

I find it so amusing that I made those boo-boos. But I am not ashamed of myself.

I like Rendezvous Hotel very much. It's not the grandest hotel, but it has almost everything that travellers will ask for...plenty of power points in the room, good partition between bath area and "make-up" area to keep the floor dry, internet access, complimentary bedroom slippers, complimentary welcome drink of your choice, FCUK toiletries, queen-sized bed, air-con system that doesn't keep blowing cool air even though it is switched off, free buffet breakfast, plenty of good but relatively cheap eateries nearby, supermarkets...

Too bad we will be staying at another hotel soon =( Will miss Rendezvous hotel because this was where I started my flying journey.

I shall post some photos of the hotel room and maybe the hotel few days later. I did not bring camera on this trip but I will be coming back here again 2 days later. Somehow I adjusted my roster and I will be doing 2 Melbourne flights back-to-back!
